Before updating
Back up the database and files. Test the update on a staging copy when possible, especially if you have custom code or plugins that change account and comment behavior.
Install the new archive
- Open Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme.
- Upload the new installable Nabd ZIP.
- Review WordPress’s installed and uploaded version comparison.
- Choose Replace current with uploaded.
- Confirm the expected version appears under the theme details.
Refresh cached assets
Purge your WordPress cache and hosting/CDN page caches. Then reload the site in a private browser window. Renaming a ZIP alone does not update the version inside it.
Check key journeys
Review the homepage, a full article, a reader profile, registration and a comment reply. Check both signed-in and guest views. Keep the backup until you are satisfied with the update.
